David A Rusling出生于1957年英格蘭北部。在大學(xué)時(shí)由于老師開(kāi)辦的操作系統(tǒng)核心講座對(duì)Unix發(fā)生興趣。在大學(xué)畢業(yè)時(shí)用最新的PDP-11 進(jìn)行項(xiàng)目開(kāi)發(fā)。1982年以?xún)?yōu)異成績(jī)從計(jì)算機(jī)專(zhuān)業(yè)畢業(yè)后在普利茅斯的Prime公司工作，2年后加入DEC?！≡贒EC的最初5年期間先后參加多個(gè)項(xiàng)目，后來(lái)調(diào)入致力于Alpha芯片和StrongARM評(píng)測(cè)板的半導(dǎo)體部門(mén)?！?998年來(lái)到 ARM，主要工作是編寫(xiě)底層固件程序以及操作系統(tǒng)移植。
